Aerodynamics Design Engineer

Williams Grand Prix Engineering Limited is seeking a highly skilled Aerodynamic Performance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Aerodynamics department, you will be responsible for designing and developing components for our 60% wind tunnel model.
Role Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for taking wetted surfaces from Aerodynamicists and turning them into physical parts using a variety of manufacturing processes. You will work closely with cross-functional departments to ensure the success of our wind tunnel tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop components for our 60% wind tunnel model using high-end CAD software.
- Ensure that standard design practices are adhered to for all projects released within the Aerodynamics department.
- Collaborate with other members of the department to plan and release parts for manufacture using a wide range of manufacturing techniques.
- Proactively drive collaboration with other departments to build positive relationships that support a culture of high performance and innovative practices.
- Collate and report back on project updates and key performance metrics within the Model Design team.
Requirements:
- Degree in an engineering discipline (or equivalent)
- Proficient in the use of a 3D CAD package (experience using Siemens NX would be beneficial)
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and proactively seek support from Senior team members or mentors as required.
- Understanding of design for manufacture and the requirement to balance functionality against cost.
