GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students in Winchester. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting teachers in delivering high-quality education and supporting the individual needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Support individual students or small groups in their learning, helping them to overcome barriers to progress.
  • Provide assistance with classroom management, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Help prepare teaching materials and resources as directed by the class teacher.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to the teacher, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and ensure they have equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos of the school by participating in extracurricular activities and school events.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within a school setting.
  • A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
