About the Role

The Accumulation Platform encompasses the Intermediary Wealth Accumulation Lab along with our digital interfaces for advisors and clients, collaborating closely with our client management, new business, and operational teams to function as a cohesive platform unit.

Our mission is values-driven, aiming to redefine customer interactions and enhance the tools and experiences available to our colleagues. By minimizing unnecessary demand, promoting self-service, and automating workflows through technology, systems design, AI, and user-centered design, our Lab operates across multiple channels to facilitate rapid change.

As an Engineering Lead, you will guide a diverse team of engineers, taking responsibility for project delivery and operational tasks. Your enthusiasm for technology, including both current and emerging trends, will help you identify opportunities to integrate these advancements into the Lab, while serving as a role model for your team and peers.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with Product Owners and Customer Journey Managers to implement features from product roadmaps, manage technical debt, ensure the stability of production environments, and foster skill development aligned with the target technology architecture.
  • Designing engineering solutions that are dependable, scalable, efficient, and secure through appropriate solution architecture, utilizing approved technologies, applying standard build patterns, and collaborating with Architecture and Technical Communities to promote solution reuse and avoid unnecessary complexity.
  • Taking proactive ownership of resolving technical challenges and exploring new patterns and solutions for implementation within your team, lab, or platform.
  • Working with Agility Leads to enhance team effectiveness by implementing changes that increase delivery cadence, reduce ownership costs, and maintain high-quality outcomes. Advocate for the advantages of a unified framework over team-specific methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive engineering expertise across a wide array of solutions and platforms.
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities, capable of influencing across various functional areas. A broad understanding of diverse engineering and software design methodologies across all technology aspects (including DevOps, data, automation, hosting, language, platform choices, etc.).
  • Experience navigating complex system architectures that include both modern and legacy solutions, as well as in-house and commercial products.
  • Proven track record in leading, mentoring, and coaching engineering teams to cultivate a world-class engineering capability and a robust team culture.
  • Ability to manage intricate delivery processes, uniting teams from within and outside the organization around shared objectives for successful outcomes.
  • Commitment to continuous learning, evidenced by certifications, application of programming frameworks, software engineering practices, and their integration into agile methodologies. This expertise should enable the candidate to provide guidance and feedback effectively.
  • Demonstrated experience in .Net development (C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server)
  • Proficiency in React & React Redux Saga
  • Familiarity with RESTful web services & Web API
  • Exposure to Azure Cloud technologies and Azure SDK
  • Knowledge of CSS, JSON, XML
  • Experience with Source Control: Azure Git or similar

Additional Skills That Would Be Beneficial

  • Experience with Umbraco or other Content Management Systems
  • Knowledge of React Native for mobile applications
  • Familiarity with web technologies such as ASP.NET MVC, JavaScript & JavaScript frameworks
  • Understanding of responsive design principles for mobile and desktop interfaces
  • Experience working with UI/UX wireframe designs and specifications – such as Adobe XD, Figma, InVision
  • Knowledge of Postman API / SoapUI / ReadyAPI for Automated API Testing
  • Familiarity with Azure Application Insights
  • Understanding of data modeling and database design principles
  • Knowledge of investment and pension products, including relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Familiarity with Single Sign-On technologies (SAML, OIDC, JWT)
