About the Role

As a key member of our team at Southco, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment. Your expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering will be essential in installing, maintaining, and repairing complex machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair production equipment, electrically and mechanically, to support production requirements.
  • Collaborate with production personnel, engineers, and shift supervisors to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure safety.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including PM events on machinery and equipment, to minimize breakdowns and maintain accurate records.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations that impact production capabilities and safety.

Requirements:

  • HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a completed apprenticeship.
  • Proficiency in IEE Wiring Regulations (17th or 18th Edition) is desirable.
  • Experience in operating milling machines, lathes, grinders, band saws, drills, and hand tools.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot electromechanical assembly equipment and control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming in basic and ladder logic is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of Pneumatics & Hydraulics.
  • Willingness to work shifts and participate in a rotational call-out system.
