Position Overview
We are in search of a skilled financial accountant to become part of our dynamic team. The role of Senior Financial Accountant is available for a temporary parental leave cover. This hybrid position allows for a flexible work arrangement, enabling remote work for part of the week.
Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the operations of a private equity-backed global enterprise with a turnover exceeding £700 million. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of projects, including system enhancements, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), as well as month-end and year-end financial support, which includes reporting, audit assistance, and financial analysis. You will work closely with the Group accounting team, our outsourced finance partner, the Group Finance Manager, and the Group Financial Controller, while regularly engaging with senior finance team members across divisions.
Key Duties
- Actively participate in the monthly closing process, year-end financial activities, and the preparation of statutory financial statements (IFRS).
- Collaborate with our outsourced finance partner on month-end transactional processes.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standardized financial policies and procedures.
- Support the implementation and enhancement of financial platforms (e.g., Business Objects, Tableau, Blackline).
Required Qualifications
- Qualified accountant with a solid understanding of consolidation processes.
- Degree-level education.
- Experience with IFRS standards.
- Practical knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and fixed asset accounting.
- Proficient in Excel, with intermediate to advanced skills.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication abilities.
- Proven capability to work collaboratively within a team environment, engaging with colleagues at all levels.
- Familiarity with IFS software is a plus.
