The Head of Finance Business Partnering will report directly to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for managing a team of three direct reports and a total team of ten. The successful candidate will be expected to provide exceptional financial leadership and ensure the delivery of a high-quality finance business partnering service that aligns with the organisation's strategy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the business to deliver the organisation's strategy and provide creative solutions to complex problems;
  • Develop and deliver robust budgets and forecasts, challenging the business to stay on track and identifying areas for improvement;
  • Lead the finance and procurement business partnering service, ensuring that the organisation's financial and operational needs are met;
  • Provide proactive and robust financial leadership, including partner relationships, operational plans, business cases, financial assumptions, and financial modelling;
  • Collate short to medium-term investment plans, interpreting key drivers and risks to inform long-term business plans;
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and relevant management information is reported, highlighting any deviations from budget or plans and identifying new issues and opportunities;
  • Lead and inspire the team, fostering a culture of excellence and encouraging colleagues to be the best they can be;

Essential criteria include:

  • Experience of reporting financial information and explaining finance concepts to non-financial stakeholders;
  • Previous or current experience working in the property or housing sector;
  • Excellent leadership skills, with a track record of getting the best out of people;
  • Recent practical experience of budgeting, management accounting, and business planning;
  • Good systems experience, including finance systems and operational systems;
  • Qualified member of a recognised accounting body;
  • A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, taxation, risk, financial reporting standards, and best practice;
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful management information.
