About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accounting professional to join our team as Head of Financial Accounting. This is a key position within the Finance department, responsible for ensuring the integrity of our finance systems, statutory reporting, and managing the balance sheet, including fixed assets.

The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivery in large and complex organisations, with excellent knowledge and experience of financial accounting. They will be able to communicate complex finance messages to a broad range of stakeholders and have the confidence and enthusiasm to make a real impact within our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective financial stewardship of the organisation, including compliance with financial standards and best practice.
  • Deliver the Annual Report and Accounts, manage the annual audit, and achieve an unqualified audit opinion.
  • Lead a team of 5 colleagues and provide influence and direction to the whole of the Finance department on matters of financial accounting.

Requirements

  • CCAB qualified (or equivalent) with excellent knowledge and experience of financial accounting.
  • Strong track record of delivery in large and complex organisations.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
