Job Title: Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Harlow (Hybrid with 3 days a week on site)

Role Overview:

Raytheon Technologies is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer within the Advanced Products Business Area. This position will report to the Quality Engineer Team Lead and collaborate closely with the Software Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance of the Quality Management System processes and documentation related to Software (and/or Firmware) with regulatory standards, objectives, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop and review Software Quality Plans and associated reports.
  • Perform Internal Software Quality audits (both process and product) and accurately document and track Non-Conformances using Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.
  • Manage and ensure adherence to Software Certification Requirements throughout Software Development and production testing environments.
  • Conduct independent verification and validation of the software development lifecycle, including quality assessments at the requirements, design, coding, and testing phases.
  • Review Software Design Documents, analyze requirements, and evaluate Software Requirements Specifications (SRSs).
  • Oversee and monitor the implications of third-party Software.
  • Approve evaluations of any software tools.
  • Provide quality support during program reviews and Management Reviews.
  • Assist Business Leads in liaising with customers during External Software audits or meetings.
  • Manage concessions and stakeholder relationships.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Ability to foster and maintain productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Act as the Quality Authority for all Software Certification requirements.
  • Proven experience in problem-solving and resolution with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Relevant professional experience in quality assurance.
  • Strong communication skills with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and internal/external stakeholders at various organizational levels.

Essential Knowledge/Experience:

  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance, Internal Auditing, and RCCA methodologies and practices.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • ISO Auditor training for ISO9001 and/or AS9100.
  • Knowledge of software standards such as RTCA DO-178C, ED-109A, or Def Stan.
  • Proficiency in software coding and testing using C+, C++, and JIRA.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience working within a Quality Assurance team supporting multiple programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a flexible and positive attitude.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in Software Configuration Management, FCA/PCA.
  • Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and Bit Bucket.
  • Knowledge of DAOS, DEF CON, RESA, and AQAPs.
  • A passion for automation.

This role will be based out of our Harlow Site with potential national travel requirements.
