Position Overview

This is a remarkable opportunity for a Senior Nurse Prescriber to become part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental team. Collaborating closely with colleagues from the broader Bromley CAMHS team and various external organizations, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care. Candidates must possess a valid RMN qualification, be registered with the NMC, and have substantial experience in a mental health environment. A comprehensive understanding of ADHD treatment and therapeutic techniques is essential, along with a flexible and responsive approach to working with children and adolescents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate care for a defined caseload of clients with ADHD, ASD, and associated disorders, promoting effective management within community settings.
  • Design and implement tailored care packages for clients and their families, ensuring adherence to national guidelines and trust policies.
  • Conduct supplementary non-medical prescribing duties following accredited training, ensuring compliance with NMC regulations.
  • Provide mentorship and awareness sessions on supplementary nurse prescribing for nursing staff across the organization.
  • Lead the development of psycho-educational resources for children with ADHD/ASD and their families.
  • Engage therapeutically with clients and their caregivers in various settings, assessing risks and planning appropriate interventions, including group therapy.
  • Continuously assess and manage high-risk clients, effectively communicating any risks to medical staff and involved professionals.

Essential Qualifications

  • NMC Registration
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health issues in children
  • Postgraduate qualification at Master’s level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Experience in therapeutic interventions relevant to the specialty

Desirable Qualifications

  • Doctorate or progress towards one
  • Nurse Prescribing Course or commitment to pursue
