About the Role:

As a Shiplift Rigger at Babcock International Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our Shiplift systems and equipment. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our facilities and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance activities to ensure the Shiplift systems and equipment are in good working order.
  • Perform rigging activities and operate Shiplift systems and equipment in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with current processes and make suggestions for improving systems and processes to increase productivity and safety.
  • Work within all H&S legislation, Safe Systems Of Work, and control of work processes in accordance with BM&T Clyde policies.
  • Undertake mentoring and training of personnel in the operation and maintenance of Shiplift systems and equipment.
  • Conduct Berthing & Docking activities.
  • Perform any reasonable task within your existing skills and capability, as directed.

Requirements:

  • Recognised Rigging Apprenticeship or equivalent is essential.
  • Experience of inspection and changing of wire ropes.
  • Knowledge of Crane maintenance.
  • Slinging and Fleeting experience.
  • Experience in handling maintenance documentation.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
