Job Title: Shiplift Rigger

At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Shiplift Rigger, you'll play a vital role in our Faslane site, undertaking rigging activities and conducting operations on Shiplift systems and equipment.

The Role

As a Shiplift Rigger, you'll be responsible for ensuring the completion of all planned preventative maintenance to meet the objectives of the business. This includes:

  • Completion of all defect and repair activity to ensure the department meets the objectives of the business.
  • Ensuring work is carried out in line with current processes and making suggestions on improving systems and processes to increase productivity and safety in accordance with set objectives and timescales.
  • Working within all H&S legislation, Safe Systems Of Work, and control of work processes in accordance with BM&T Clyde policies.
  • Operating Shiplift systems and equipment in accordance with relevant procedures.
  • Undertaking mentoring where required for personnel in the operation & maintenance of Shiplift systems and equipment.
  • Conducting Berthing & Docking activities.
  • Performing any reasonable task within your existing skills and capability, as directed.

This position involves working at height, and candidates must be able to work safely and perform tasks at varying heights.

Essential Experience

  • Experience of inspection and changing of wire ropes.
  • Knowledge of Crane maintenance.
  • Slinging and Fleeting experience.
  • Experience in handling maintenance documentation.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Rigging Apprenticeship or equivalent is essential.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
