Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Governance Officer to join our team at Ktpws. As an Information Governance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of information across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Information Governance: Develop and implement information governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Data Protection: Provide expert advice on data protection and ensure that all data is handled in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Compliance: Monitor and report on compliance with information governance and data protection policies and procedures.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of information governance professionals to ensure the effective delivery of information governance services.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that information governance and data protection requirements are understood and met.
- Qualifications: Qualified to postgraduate level in a relevant law/information management/information governance related discipline, or significant equivalent experience and the willingness to work toward a specialist postgraduate qualification.
- Skills and Experience: Demonstrable experience providing advice and support on the full range of information governance/data protection areas in a large complex organization. Managing and leading multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Monitoring and contributing to budget setting processes.
- Understanding: Expert knowledge of Data Protection & Public Records law. Good understanding of information technology systems and security. Good understanding of the local authority context, its partners and associated legal framework and data processing activities. Good understanding of risk management principles.
- Commitment: A high level of personal integrity and professional ethics. The ability to work independently with minimum supervision. The ability to communicate clearly and confidently at all levels. Demonstrable ability in negotiating and influencing and the ability to shape organisational culture.
