SSE Enterprise is looking for a motivated and proactive Project Management Assistant to join our expanding team. If you possess a background in engineering or construction, along with a passion for project management and a strong commitment to safety, we invite you to consider this opportunity.
In this role, you will assist in managing a diverse project team to ensure the successful execution of high-voltage transmission projects, adhering to budget, quality, and timelines throughout the planning, construction, and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to strategize, implement, and track project progress, ensuring timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
- Engage with stakeholders to comprehend project requirements and objectives while embodying the core leadership values of SSE.
- Oversee work packages, emphasizing project value and efficiency, while preparing financial reports and contributing to budget development.
- Provide insights for tender packages and contract specifications, assist in tender evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract oversight.
- Cultivate an understanding of large capital project governance processes.
- Gain knowledge of safety management systems and best practices, ensuring project teams align with our safety culture.
As a Project Management Assistant, you will have the chance to advance into a Project Manager position by engaging in the complete project lifecycle.
Qualifications:A background in engineering, construction, or project management, coupled with a desire to further develop in a project management career path.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including knowledge of relevant legislation.
Understanding of contract administration and a willingness to develop proficiency in project programming.
Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
A proactive attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm for the role.
A valid driving license is essential due to the requirement for travel.
