Job Title: Electronics Support Engineer

Location: Flexible working arrangements available. Salary: Competitive salary based on experience and skills. Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and development of electronic systems, from initial specifications to final implementation.
  • Maintenance and enhancement of existing designs, including technology upgrades.
  • Support for off-site testing activities.
  • Conduct testing on customer platforms.
  • Translate technical requirements into detailed design specifications.
  • Component selection, schematic design, and PCB layout support.
  • Collaboration with related engineering disciplines such as mechanical, thermal, and production engineering.
  • Adhere to the engineering lifecycle, participating in progress and design reviews.
  • Design and demonstrate system integrations.
  • Analyze fiber optic systems using specialized testing equipment.

Required Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering or a closely related field, with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Experience in a defense or high-integrity safety environment.
  • Ability to generate component-level designs for production using computer-aided engineering tools.
  • Strong knowledge of analogue circuit analysis.
  • Understanding of basic analogue signal processing techniques, including active filtering.
  • Knowledge of power supply design and decoupling methods.
  • Experience with analogue-to-digital and digital-to-analogue conversion.
  • Integration, design validation, and defect resolution.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in fiber optics, power electronics, and testing methodologies is advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate with PCB designers to optimize circuit layouts for electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent, or working towards it.
