About the Role

VIVID Housing is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our customer-focused team. In this role, you will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of communal outdoor areas, ensuring they are safe, clean, and visually appealing for our customers.

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will carry out a high standard of grounds work to make our communal grounds areas attractive for customers. You will have good communication skills and the ability to interact with residents and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You will have good knowledge and experience in this field with skills to operate a variety of equipment, machines, and materials that you will use on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Routine grounds maintenance tasks, such as grass/hedge cutting, trimming, and weeding
  • Hard area maintenance and low-level tree work as well as soft landscaping
  • Shrub maintenance
  • Ensuring communal areas are free from litter and debris
  • Perform regular inspections to identify and address any potential safety hazards
  • Assist with seasonal tasks, such as leaf removal
  • Operating grounds maintenance equipment and tools
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and from residents

Requirements

  • A full, clean current driving licence (held for at least 1 year) to be able to drive one of our vans when needed
  • Ability to work at heights
  • Manual handling and lifting heavy and bulky items
  • A high degree of mobility, which will include walking/lifting/loading and unloading vehicles
