About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Animal Care Specialist to join our team at Protocol National Limited. As an Animal Care Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and high-quality learning experiences in Animal Care, with a focus on Conservation, Sustainability, and Ecology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Assessment: Design and deliver lessons that cater to the diverse needs of learners, ensuring all students receive a comprehensive education in Animal Care and related fields.
  • Practical Instruction: Liaise with learners and industry partners to plan and execute practical learning days, ensuring safety and educational value.
  • Student Support: Monitor and assess learner progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in professional development to stay current with industry standards and educational best practices.
  • Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and safeguarding requirements, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Enrichment Activities: Participate in the college's enrichment programs and support the planning of educational trips and visits.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Minimum Level 4 qualification in Animal Care, Conservation, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience: Recent experience in the Animal Care or Conservation sector, with a strong background in delivering Level 2 and Level 3 courses.
  • Teaching Qualification: Teaching qualification (DTLLs, PGCE, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Personal Qualities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently, commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all learners, flexible, professional, and positive approach to work.
