Heavy Vehicle Workshop Supervisor

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Controller to join our team at Volvo Group. As a key member of our dealer management team, you will play a crucial role in managing the GVS process from planning to invoice closure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Work In Progress (WIP), oversee the workshop team, and regularly manage customer expectations
- Proactively manage the GVS process, ensuring that service and repair work is completed to time and quality standards
- Manage customer expectations, job profitability, and workshop productivity targets to optimize workshop profitability
- Carry out regular process reviews with your Dealerpoint Manager to identify operational issues and ensure appropriate follow-up actions are taken
- Manage the performance of the service department to ensure that KPI targets are achieved
- Hold daily production meetings to plan workload and resources, review identified issues, and identify appropriate solutions
- Anticipate production problems based on forward plans and resources, and provide active support to handle workload
- Actively participate in the Dealerpoint's Commercial Crew CRM meetings following the CRM process
- Assist the Dealerpoint Manager in the production of the annual business plan
Requirements
- City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle or equivalent
- Previous experience of supervising in a commercial vehicle workshop
- Knowledge of VOSA requirements, MOT Testers manual, Warranty and Contract scope and procedures, workshop KPIs, and Operators License Laws and Regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work daily with spreadsheets and in-house IT systems to manage productive man hours and unsold man hours
- Ability to work in an organized and methodical manner, ensuring all daily tasks are completed
