Job Overview

We are pleased to announce a remarkable opportunity for an Assistant Ward Manager within the Medical Assessment Unit. We seek a dedicated and experienced nurse with robust leadership capabilities to enhance our team dynamics.

The Assistant Ward Manager will collaborate closely with the Clinical Lead and various multidisciplinary teams. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a culture of teamwork, alleviating stress for both patients and staff, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

You will be expected to exhibit advanced nursing assessment and clinical care skills, guiding others in their professional growth.

If selected, you will have the chance to contribute to the leadership of the unit, gaining valuable experience in management by supporting staff during absences, conducting performance appraisals, spearheading improvement initiatives, and coordinating with bed management to maintain optimal patient flow in alignment with hospital demands.

The role presents both exciting challenges and opportunities, as the successful candidate will be tasked with achieving strategic objectives related to safety, quality, performance, and financial management.

Relevant post-registration clinical and managerial experience is essential, demonstrating capabilities at a Band 5 level. Resilience in this rewarding yet demanding care environment is crucial; proficiency in Welsh is desirable, and applications from both Welsh and English speakers are welcomed.
