About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Rochdale Borough Council's Integrated Mental Health Service as an Advanced Practitioner Social Worker within one of the community mental health teams (CMHTs) covering Rochdale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a lead for social care in the Community Mental Health Team, providing leadership and supervision to social workers, support workers, and support planners in the team.
  • Support personalized commissioning of services to meet individual complex mental health needs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on social care interventions and secondary mental health care pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of partners to achieve positive outcomes for service users.

Requirements:

  • Qualified social worker with a working knowledge of relevant legislation and procedural frameworks.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience of working in an adult social care/mental health setting.
  • Good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended 2007), Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Safeguarding work.
  • Significant experience working with individuals with severe mental health needs, managing complex risk, and making decisions in a pressurized environment.
  • Knowledge and skills of working in a supervisory capacity and working with a wide range of partners.

  • Applicants with an AMHP qualification will have the opportunity to practice as part of a rota that supports those AMHPs who are based within the dedicated AMHP Hub.
  • Applicants who are already a qualified Best Interest Assessor will have the opportunity to take part on the BIA rota.
