We are looking for a committed and empathetic Youth Support Specialist to become part of a nurturing team within a residential care setting for children.
As a Youth Support Specialist, your primary role will be to deliver care and assistance to children in a residential environment, ensuring they feel valued, secure, and are able to grow, flourish, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide full-time or part-time support (37/18 hours) to children in residential care, aiding their behavioral, educational, and emotional development.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with both children and colleagues.
- Address the emotional, mental, and physical health needs of the children.
- Collaborate with a network of professionals involved in each child's care, as well as their families and communities.
- Create a safe, engaging, and loving atmosphere for the children.
Experience working with young individuals facing emotional or behavioral challenges is essential. You should possess the ability to handle complex and challenging behaviors in a constructive, restorative, and sensitive manner. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is also required.
