Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team at an Aerospace manufacturer in Fareham. As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the conformity of products throughout the build process and at final inspection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct dimensional inspections of sub-contracted and in-house manufactured parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Perform inspections based on agreed criteria, including inspection sheets, engineering drawings, standards, and purchase orders, utilizing appropriate measurement equipment and fixtures.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve identified issues and work with them to analyze root causes, apply for necessary permits or concessions, and establish corrective actions.
  • Report inspection results to the Quality Control Manager or Senior Inspector and support Quality Engineering by identifying in-process or supplier trends.
  • Oversee daily inspection requirements to ensure manufactured components meet customer specifications and check stock for quality issues.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in performing component inspections and understanding engineering drawings.
  • Basic report writing and PC skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience working to AS9100 standards and detailed mechanical inspection in an aviation environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with manual measurement techniques and preferably CMM programming using QCT Software.
