We welcome applications for both full-time and part-time positions, which will require participation in a rotating schedule that includes day and night shifts. The successful candidate will also be expected to work during public holidays and weekends.

Ward 4D (formerly ward 5y) is a dynamic and continuously developing adult gastroenterology unit catering to a diverse patient demographic with various gastro medical conditions.

No prior experience is mandatory for applicants, although having some background in adult care within a hospital environment, particularly with gastrointestinal medical issues, would be advantageous.

This ward provides an excellent opportunity to collaborate with our esteemed multidisciplinary team. There are also prospects for further education in the gastroenterology specialty.

We expect our nursing staff to uphold the trust's values and behaviors consistently, and the ward sister anticipates that all team members will adhere to the high standards established by the trust. Key Responsibilities
  • The post holder will be accountable for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Collaborate as a member of the multidisciplinary team and undertake delegated responsibilities from the ward manager/charge nurse.
  • Upon successful completion of foundational training, the post holder will be required to oversee the ward/department during their shift.
  • The post holder will consistently operate within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.

Job Responsibilities
