Spire Southampton Hospital is seeking a skilled healthcare administrative assistant to support our vibrant team in a part-time capacity.

Our facility is renowned for delivering exceptional medical care, drawing patients from various regions and internationally. We pride ourselves on our outstanding cardiac surgery outcomes, backed by a dedicated Critical Care team and a multidisciplinary approach to treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to telephone inquiries, address concerns, and liaise with Consultants as needed. Schedule appointments for new patients and manage their registration using our internal database systems. Provide essential information to new patients regarding potential fees associated with hospital services and consultations. Accurately transcribe clinic correspondence from Consultant dictations, ensuring timely follow-up appointments are arranged using traditional scheduling methods until transitioning to an electronic system. Assist in preparing for upcoming clinics by tracking results and ensuring all necessary documentation is ready for the next Consultant's clinic day. Follow up on patient results to ensure they are available for Consultant review during appointments. Prepare discharge summaries as dictated by Consultants when required. Generate medical reports for insurance purposes to facilitate treatment approvals. Maintain patient records in accordance with hospital policies and data protection regulations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Proven experience as a medical or legal secretary is essential. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent communication skills, particularly over the phone. Strong team collaboration skills. Familiarity with medical terminology is highly advantageous.
