Job Summary:

NHS Lothian is seeking a highly skilled and experienced psychosexual therapist to join our team in Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service (LSRHS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care through face-to-face and virtual consultations, providing non-judgmental and empathetic support for individuals with a range of sexual health issues.
  • Participate in the care of people requiring a variety of sexual health services, utilizing a person-centered approach and effective communication skills.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Manage and prioritize workload, ensuring timely and high-quality care for patients.

Requirements:

  • PVQ Scheme membership/record, with the ability to obtain Disclosure Scotland clearance for the required regulatory group.
  • Psychosexual therapy qualification from a COSRT-accredited course or a healthcare qualification with experience working with sexual dysfunctions, plus a psychotherapy qualification.
  • Strong communication and clinical consultation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work across all areas of LSRHS and deliver care in various settings, including telephone and video consultations.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of team work and leadership, with the ability to manage and lead a team.
  • Experience of analyzing data and report writing, with the ability to provide high-quality written reports.

Working Arrangements:

This is a part-time position, with a salary that will be pro-rata based on the number of hours worked.
