Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced psychosexual therapist to join our team in Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Service (LSRHS). This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fully integrated service, providing specialist sexual health services across four Community Health and Social Care Partnerships, serving 80,000 patient attendances annually.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering direct patient care through face-to-face and virtual consultations, demonstrating a non-judgmental and empathetic approach to addressing a range of sexual health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality psychosexual therapy services to patients, utilizing a person-centered approach and effective communication skills.
  • Participate in the care of individuals with various sexual health concerns, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with best practices and research in psychosexual therapy.
Requirements
  • PVQ Scheme membership/record, with the ability to obtain a satisfactory disclosure from Disclosure Scotland.
  • Psychosexual Therapy qualification from a COSRT-accredited course or a healthcare qualification with experience working with sexual dysfunctions, plus a psychotherapy qualification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work across all areas of LSRHS, adapting to changing service needs and priorities.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of team work and leadership, with the ability to manage and motivate others.
  • Experience of analyzing data and report writing, with a focus on service improvement and quality assurance.
