We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead for Research and Innovation to join our team at Public Health Wales. This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical leader who sees the value of cancer research in improving cancer outcomes and driving innovation in cancer care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver the aims and objectives of the National Strategic Clinical Network for Cancer, focusing on identifying, supporting the development of, and embedding research and innovation into national optimum pathways for cancer and across cancer services.
- Support the Network Clinical Lead and Network Manager with research and innovation aspects and opportunities within the network work programme.
- Work with colleagues to support and foster the integration of research and innovation into the core business of cancer services in Wales.
- Provide clinical leadership within the network for the workplan of the research and innovation team.
- Lead, support, and promote the dissemination and implementation of best practice and standards across Wales.
- Full appropriate professional registration.
- An in-depth knowledge and understanding of national guidance and best practice.
- Good understanding of the principles of clinical governance.
- High level of understanding of Value Based Health/Prudent Healthcare principles.
- Comprehensive understanding of research, the NHS, and the wider health and care system, including associated responsibilities to the public and patients.
- Postgraduate research qualification.
- Leading and delivering significant clinical changes across organisations or sectors.
- Working with key stakeholders, NHS Wales, Welsh and other UK Governments, 3rd sector, industry, academia.
- Comprehensive understanding of the UK research pathway and funding.
- Experience of co-creating and implementing strategies to build capacity and capability for the delivery of health and care research.
- Sound judgment and decision making.
- Proven ability to manage complex work and prioritise effectively.
- Evidence of strong influencing, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to influence and shape thinking, particularly where there is uncertainty or a lack of clarity.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual and multi-professional basis.
