Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Training Specialist to join our Delivery team for Ford of Britain and Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering training to Ford dealer delegates, covering electrical, mechanical, and high-voltage systems across various technician levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a blend of attended and virtual classroom technical training sessions, focusing on workshop automotive diagnostic repair procedures for a wide range of technicians and technical delegates.
- Research and stay up-to-date on the latest vehicle technologies to support training and development, differentiating between essential and supplementary knowledge.
- Establish and maintain a supportive learning environment through encouraging questions, knowledge sharing, and utilizing various hands-on and instructor-based training methods.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with delegates and dealer networks, promoting technical training programs to ensure ongoing business and delegate placements.
- Collaborate with the customer to identify growth opportunities and communicate them to the Training Manager.
- Maintain the suitability and cleanliness of the training and workshop environment, including vehicles and training aids.
- Contribute to the development of manufacturer's trainer guides and training brochures, adhering to pre-determined layouts and standards.
- Monitor and ensure progression of own Continual Professional Development.
- Participate in internal quality assurance of technical training programs.
About You
- Strong proficiency in written English and grammar.
- Suitable academic or industry qualifications related to the role, including high-voltage knowledge.
- Experience in a Service Technician environment with detailed knowledge of vehicle systems.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Capacity to learn new vehicle technologies and sub-systems, including diagnostics.
- IT literacy with working knowledge of multimedia design and publishing software.
- Experience in delivering technical training material to workshop technicians.
- Ability to assess the competence of workshop technicians in performing low-level technical tasks in line with external awarding body guidelines.
- Valid, clean driving license and willingness to travel to regional sites.
What We Offer
Up to £43,000 dependent on experience, 25 Days Annual Leave, plus Bank Holidays, Calex Employee Benefits Package (including High Street Discounts, Online GP, Welfare Scheme).
Calex will undertake relevant employment checks with any successful candidate, including contacting nominated references, checking candidate ID, driving license (if applicable), and right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks. The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of the right to work in the UK.
