Gleeson Recruitment Group is collaborating with a prominent SME to find a Finance Manager to join their team. This position calls for a skilled accountant with a strong commercial acumen to be part of their finance team on a full-time basis, offering a competitive salary up to £70,000.
In this role, reporting directly to the Finance Director and working alongside a small finance team, the Finance Manager will oversee three direct reports and ensure that the finance department delivers precise reporting data, maintains compliant processes, and fosters robust cross-departmental relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical accounting background while being eager to engage with both finance and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a small team daily, providing necessary support and training.
- Prepare high-quality management accounts while adhering to strict internal reporting timelines.
- Compile statutory accounts and manage group consolidations.
- Assist in the weekly CFM preparation.
- Ensure adherence to VAT and Corporation Tax regulations.
- Prepare and submit group VAT returns.
- Support the Finance Director in financial planning and forecasting activities.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee credit control and cash collection processes.
- Manage and process both weekly and monthly payrolls, coordinating with external providers.
- Act as the primary liaison for external auditors.
- Carry out additional ad-hoc tasks to assist the Finance Director.
Key Requirements
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
- Proficient in advanced Excel and IT skills.
- Highly organized and diligent.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Experience in manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory.
- Degree in accounting, economics, or business.
