Operations Strategy and Oversight Manager

About the Role:

The Operations Strategy and Oversight Manager will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our insurance operations and ensuring effective execution of key initiatives to deliver against this. This role involves overseeing the Operations Business Change Manager and Operations Product Owner, ensuring alignment with company goals, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring budget control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Support the implementation of the company's annual operational and strategic plans and priorities in line with the company's 2025 and beyond ambitions.
  • Process Improvement: Understand and document the end-to-end customer journey and be responsible for digital process and journey improvements. Host internal and external meetings and workshops to support this.
  • Program Development: Responsible for the development and launch of programs to deliver on strategic plans, such as the company's digital first approach, including customer portal development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Senior stakeholder engagement, reporting to relevant steering committees on benefits delivery and future change.
  • Strategic Roadmap: Implementing and building a strategic roadmap, accountable to align and deliver digital operations with strategic goals, Director and Steering sign-off of roadmap, communication and alignment of roadmap to all interested parties.
  • Team Management: Delegation and management of roadmap through Business Product Owners.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work closely with the Customer Service Leadership team to support the operational activities in aligning with regulatory requirements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Product Development:
  • Ensure alignment of product development with operational needs and strategic goals.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor product performance and customer feedback, driving continuous improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership and project management experience.
  • People Management: People management skills and experience.
  • Digital Transformation: Experience in digitising customer journeys and new process development.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to lead the development and interpretation of numerical trends and analysis, identifying key issues based on this information to enable well-informed business decisions.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Awareness and understanding of regulatory framework and requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: University degree or equivalent (preferred).
