About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Leicester. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency teams to develop personalized care plans that promote academic, emotional, and social growth.
  • Establish and maintain clear boundaries for students with challenging behavior, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them manage triggers and regulate their emotions.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and development among students.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior and set clear boundaries.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting young people with complex needs.
  • Willingness to work with students who require additional support.
  • Graduates in SEN, Psychology, Criminology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
