GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Support Worker to join our team in Leicester. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the class teacher and support staff to deliver tailored learning and care plans that promote student growth and development.
- Work closely with multi-agency teams to develop personalized care plans that address the unique needs of each student.
- Establish and maintain clear boundaries with students, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Provide emotional and academic support to students, fostering positive social interactions and development.
- Assist students in managing triggers and regulating their emotions, promoting emotional well-being.
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage challenging behavior and establish clear boundaries.
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with complex needs.
- Willingness to work with students who require additional support.
- Graduates in SEN, Psychology, Criminology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
- Support Workers interested in training to become Teaching Assistants or Cover Supervisors are also welcome.
- The ideal candidate will have a background in working with students with SEN, youth services, or community support.
- Ideally, candidates will have experience working with students with complex needs, such as autism, ADHD, or emotional disorders.
- Clear Enhanced DBS registration is required, and GSL Education can provide guidance on the application process.
- Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with SEN.
- Work in a supportive, multi-agency environment that prioritizes student well-being.
