We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Technician to become a vital part of our Maintenance team.

Work Schedule: The successful candidate will engage in a full-time role, typically working 40 hours per week. Initially, the position will involve day shifts from 08:00 to 16:00, Monday through Friday. However, flexibility is essential as the role may require covering a rotating shift pattern, including weekends as needed.

Compensation: The basic salary for this position is set at £43,931 annually.

As a member of the Maintenance Department, you will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Leadership Team to ensure that all machinery operates at optimal standards, thereby supporting safe operations and meeting production and quality requirements.

The primary goal is to enhance Safety, Quality, and Overall Efficiency within the department, with a strong focus on maintenance practices that contribute to these improvements.

In this role, you will utilize your expertise to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on PLC-controlled equipment within a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment. Familiarity with AC/DC motors and Servo Drive systems is advantageous. The position also entails performing electrical installation tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and components as necessary.
  • Diagnose faults in automated electrical systems, employing PLC diagnostic skills.
  • Perform diagnostics on Pirelli Network systems at the machine level, with assistance from the IT department.
  • Carry out regular preventative maintenance testing on electrical systems, equipment, and components.
  • Collaborate with other electrical and mechanical team members to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all electrical components in the designated area are functioning properly.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and standards while working.
  • Complete assigned tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Follow established standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in relevant training and development opportunities.
  • Provide training and mentorship to apprentices.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a team-oriented environment where strong interpersonal skills are crucial, and initiative is necessary for problem-solving. Previous experience in a modern, high-volume manufacturing setting is preferred. Applicants must be time-served, and possession of 17th/18th Edition qualifications is desirable.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Time-served electrical engineer with relevant technical qualifications.
  • HNC qualified or possess a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience.
  • 17th/18th Edition qualification is preferred.

  • Familiarity with Siemens PLC control (Step7, TIA Portal).
  • Knowledge of Siemens Sinamics drive control (S120, G120).
  • Understanding of PLC-PLC, PLC to database communication, barcode scanning systems, and other industrial communication systems is desirable.
  • Proficient in single and three-phase systems.
  • Capability to diagnose faults in AC/DC motors.
