Job Summary

Protec Fire Detection PLC is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Service and Commissioning Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of fire alarm systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the Customer Services Team to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks, adhering to company policies and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of electrical circuits and measuring devices, and participate in training courses as necessary to stay up-to-date with industry developments.
  • Act as a company ambassador, demonstrating a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with clients and colleagues.
  • Perform routine servicing and reactive maintenance of fire alarm systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Commission fire alarm systems, utilizing relevant training and expertise to ensure accurate and efficient installation.
  • Maintain accurate and high-quality records of customer, company, and personal paperwork.
  • Participate in on-call duties as part of the Area Team, providing 24/7 support to clients.
  • Perform other duties as required, commensurate with the role.
RequirementsQualifications
  • Hold a full electrical-based qualification, such as City & Guilds or ONC/HNC.
Experience
  • Demonstrate experience working within the electrical/electronic sector.
  • Have a working knowledge of electrical circuits and measuring devices.
  • Have experience working with fire alarms and associated systems.
  • Familiarity with safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Competent in using technology, including laptops, measuring devices, and smartphones.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and submit customer and company paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels within the company.
Other
  • Hold a thorough understanding of relevant British Standards, particularly those related to servicing, maintenance, and commissioning.
  • Have a genuine interest in your work and a willingness to learn.
  • Hold a full, valid driving license.
