Maintenance Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Technician to become a vital part of our Maintenance team.
Work Schedule: The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week. Initially, the role will involve day shifts from 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, but flexibility to cover a rotating 3-shift pattern and weekends is essential.
Compensation: The basic salary for this position is £43,931 per annum.
As a member of the Maintenance Department, you will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Leadership Team to ensure that all equipment operates to the highest standards, thereby supporting safe operations and meeting production and quality benchmarks.
Key Objectives: Your primary goal will be to enhance Safety, Quality, and Overall Efficiency within the department, focusing on maintenance practices that drive these improvements.
Utilizing your expertise, you will troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues on PLC-controlled machinery in a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment. Familiarity with AC/DC motors and Servo Drive systems is advantageous. The role also includes responsibilities for electrical installation tasks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components as needed.
- Diagnose faults in automated electrical systems using PLC diagnostic skills.
- Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on network systems at the machine level with IT support.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance testing on electrical systems and components.
- Assist fellow electrical and mechanical team members in completing maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all electrical components in the designated area are functioning correctly.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and norms.
- Complete tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Follow standard operating procedures diligently.
- Participate in relevant training and development opportunities.
- Provide training and mentorship to apprentices.
Successful candidates will thrive in a team-oriented environment where strong interpersonal skills are essential, and initiative is necessary for problem-solving. Previous experience in a modern, high-volume manufacturing setting is preferred. Applicants should possess relevant qualifications and experience, with 17th/18th Edition certification being advantageous.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Time-served electrical engineer with appropriate technical qualifications.
- HNC qualified or possess at least 3 years of industrial experience.
- Preferred qualifications include 17th/18th Edition certification.

- Familiarity with Siemens PLC control (Step7, TIA Portal).
- Knowledge of Siemens Sinamics drive control (S120, G120).
- Understanding of PLC-PLC, PLC to database communication, and industrial communication systems is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of single and three-phase systems.
- Capability to diagnose faults in AC/DC motors.
