Research Scientist in Leukaemia Biology

The All-Island Cancer Research Institute (AICRI) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join its dynamic research group. As part of the AICRIstart programme, this role will contribute to a collaborative project investigating the host-microbe interaction in chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). The successful candidate will work closely with the research team to identify early signs of immune deterioration in the microbiome, which may be leveraged to identify at-risk patients for early intervention.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research in the field of CLL and host-microbe interaction
- Collaborate with the research team to design and implement experiments
- Analyze data and contribute to the development of research papers
- Present research findings at conferences and workshops
This post is based at the Personalised Medicine Centre (PMC), School of Medicine, Altnagelvin Area Hospital, Derry~Londonderry. The successful candidate will become an integral member of a dynamic and collaborative research group that values research excellence, translational impact, and a vibrant research culture. Regular travel/periods of work at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Coleraine campus may be required.
RequirementsThe successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field and experience in research in cancer medicine. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for this role. Please note that due to the minimum salary thresholds imposed by the UKVI, this post will not qualify for university sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa route.
