In this pivotal position, you will be instrumental in defining the global approach to spare parts logistics within the Central Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) Decision Science and Technology (DST) team.

This role transcends conventional inventory management; it requires a specialist who can influence and transform how Amazon RME oversees spare parts logistics on a worldwide scale.

Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere stock oversight; you will spearhead process enhancement initiatives, such as improving parts tracking and streamlining the claims process with suppliers during equipment failures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute significantly to the global spare parts logistics strategy
  • Collaborate with colleagues to devise and implement a comprehensive global strategy for spare parts logistics
  • Drive initiatives to ensure the right spare parts are available at optimal locations, minimizing costs while maximizing operational efficiency
  • Conduct research projects, perform data analysis, and interpret reports to identify opportunities, refine processes, and enact changes
  • Lead and advocate for complex, cross-functional process improvement projects
  • Define projects aimed at enhancing current logistics management standards and practices
  • Initiate efforts to eliminate redundant workflows and simplify processes with a global impact
  • Innovate and apply best practices to improve spare parts tracking, enhancing accuracy and efficiency
  • Support warranty and repair initiatives to optimize the process of repairing and claiming parts from suppliers in case of failures or quality concerns
  • Identify and implement success metrics to monitor the execution of spare parts management initiatives
  • Prepare and present detailed, data-driven business reviews to senior management
  • Facilitate communication from DST to RME and Operations senior management
Basic Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate data (e.g., proficiency with Pivot tables, Macros, and SQL)
  • Extensive experience in a role focused on inventory management
  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end projects, programs, or process improvement initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline, operations, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Solid experience in communicating results to senior leadership
  • Significant experience in reliability engineering and spare parts logistics
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Recognized expertise in equipment design and layout of mechanical handling, conveyance, and packaging systems
  • Master's degree in a technical discipline, operations, business administration, or a related field from an accredited institution
