About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design and Development Engineer to join our team at AVL Powertrain UK Ltd. As a key member of our DDI Department, you will play a crucial part in the development of modern passenger car powertrain systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop components using CAD software
  2. Understand and apply automotive development processes, from concept to production
  3. Design for manufacture, including material selection and process control technologies
  4. Analyze CAE and CFD data to inform component design
  5. Develop FMEA and design verification test plans
  6. Analyze test data results and impact on design
  7. Prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  8. Work collaboratively as part of a team
  9. Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
  10. Support component specifications for sign-off
  11. Prepare reports and present findings
  12. Liaise with functional groups within the organization
  13. Travel to other sites and suppliers as required
Requirements
  1. Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering (min 2:1)
  2. Understanding of vehicle/powertrain system and component requirements
  3. Awareness of GD&T, FMEA, DVP&R, and 8D Techniques
  4. Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  5. Excellent written and verbal English skills
  6. Strong presentation skills
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  8. Driving license
  9. Willingness to travel
  10. Open-minded, flexible, and motivated attitude
