Job Title: Deputy Charge Nurse - Emergency Department

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Charge Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide leadership and support to our nursing team. As a Deputy Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing care needs, evaluating care plans, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strong leadership and support to the nursing team
  • Assess care needs and evaluate care plans
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients
  • Supervise and deploy staff in the absence of a Senior Charge Nurse
  • Maintain clinical and staff governance
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Advanced clinical expertise in emergency nursing or a relevant nursing specialty
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and competently in all clinical areas of emergency nursing
  • Considerable post-qualification experience in emergency nursing or a relevant nursing specialty

This role requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.
