About the Role

Headway Norfolk and Waveney is a dynamic and impactful organisation dedicated to empowering brain injury survivors and their families. As CEO, you will have the opportunity to shape the strategic direction, inspire a passionate team, and drive meaningful change in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide strategic vision and leadership to the operation and development of Headway Norfolk and Waveney, ensuring alignment with the Board of Trustees' direction.
  2. Ensure the charitable purposes of Headway Norfolk and Waveney are upheld, and the organisation delivers its charitable benefit as outlined in the strategy.
  3. Take overall responsibility for Headway Norfolk and Waveney's management and administration, operating within the governance and accountability frameworks established by the Board of Trustees.
  4. Collaborate with the Chair to enable the Trustees to fulfill their duties and legal responsibilities for the proper governance of Headway Norfolk and Waveney.
  5. Provide the Board with timely, effective, and thorough advice, recommendations, and information.
Requirements
  1. Substantial experience in management and strategic leadership, preferably within the charitable sector, including:
  2. Proven track record of implementing an organisation's strategic vision.
  3. Experience in managing significant budgets.
  4. Experience in managing staff and implementing management systems and procedures.
  5. Ability to write management reports and report to governance bodies.
  6. Experience in relationship building and profile raising.
  7. Experience in working with bodies responsible for corporate governance.
  8. Capacity to analyse systems and procedures, and implement effective changes as necessary.
  9. Good understanding of company and charity law is desirable.
