Days Based Maintenance Engineer
Location – Sudbury Factory
Shift Pattern – Days, Monday to Friday
Salary £42,000 plus potential bonus and fantastic benefits.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Nestlé Purina site in Sudbury. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our factory.
A Day in the Life of a Maintenance Engineer
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the basic condition of our machines through reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance activities. You will also support breakdowns and participate in line improvements across the factory, becoming a Subject Matter Expert for your selected area.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the basic condition of machines through regular maintenance activities.
- Support breakdowns and participate in line improvements across the factory.
- Drive a safe culture and eliminate safety risks.
- Ensure all work is completed to a good engineering standard following GMP and safe systems of work.
- Ensure compliance with the Nestlé quality policy, particularly engineering change management and line release.
- Record breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis, and take ownership of follow-up actions.
- Support Root Cause Analysis practices and projects.
- Support the Capability Build of Shift Technicians and Apprentice Technicians, as well as the AM team, following our TPM roadmap on site.
Requirements
- Education to apprenticeship level NVQ 3 in Engineering, with Electrical bias advantageous.
- Demonstrate mechanical comprehension and food safety/food handling awareness.
- Ability to understand and adhere to strict hygiene rules.
- Experience in Planned Preventative asset Maintenance.
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis tools/problem solving methodology.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing tools, including TPM.
