Maintenance and Engineering Service Specialist

Job Summary
The Maintenance and Engineering Service Specialist will provide maintenance and engineering service support for the site, driving improved performance and cost, services, and quality. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for undertaking tasks that require data and strong diagnostics to identify and act upon underlying root cause issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake tasks that require data and strong diagnostics to identify and act upon underlying root cause issues
- Carry out planned or preventative maintenance using mechanical and electrical skill sets
- Develop proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activities
- Review production targets and priorities, balancing the lines to meet them with minimal downtime
- Coach equipment best practices to front-line employees, both on the line and in the classroom
- Support and lead project initiatives in the plant
- Has a coaching style and can influence peers
- Prioritize multiple tasks using initiative
- Strong communication skills
- Results-focused to ensure that repairs are carried out in a timely and professional manner
- Strive to achieve KPI targets for maintenance, line performance, and waste reduction
- Strong team player who adopts a continuous improvement approach
- Promote safe working practices
- Set high personal standards for quality of work and level of service provided
Shift Pattern
The Shift Operations Engineer will work a 4-week shift rotation, with the following pattern:
- Week 1: Monday and Tuesday (Days), Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Nights)
- Week 2: Wednesday and Thursday (Days)
- Week 3: Monday and Tuesday (Nights), Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Days)
- Week 4: Wednesday and Thursday (Nights)
Requirements
- Ability to interrogate PLC code used for diagnostic fault finding
- Multi-skilled, electrically biased with electrical qualifications
- C&G 2365, 236, 2330, 2360, and 2351
- C&G 2391 inspection and testing
- HNC or HND
- 18th Edition
- Electrical and mechanical experience in high-volume continuous production environments with PLC, pneumatic control, and high mechanical aptitude and good diagnostic skills
- Electrical panel fault finding
- Component identification and change using change management
- Electrical drawing fault finding ability
- 24v DC, 240v AC, and 415v 3-phase systems
- High automation controls system PLC and Scada
- Motor drive controllers
- Motor pumps
- Mechanical drawing, following P&ID control
- Fluid systems, control valves, and flow
- Small projects, electrical and mechanical installations
- Steam and condensate experience
- Water systems, i.e., RO and NF systems
- Waste water treatment plants
- Hands-on experience
