We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Mechanic to join our team at Moran Logistics. As a key member of our fleet maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the roadworthiness of our vehicles and maintaining service operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain vehicles to ensure they are in a roadworthy condition.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, and wheel balancing.
  • Repair and replace parts and components as needed.
  • Conduct test drives to verify vehicle serviceability.
  • Comply with legal vehicle requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet Engineer and Transport Manager to ensure vehicles are in a roadworthy condition.
Requirements
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Relevant technical motor mechanic qualification.
  • Demonstrable understanding of vehicle maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Full LGV license (advantageous).
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
  • Good accuracy level and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Organize own workload and prioritize tasks effectively.
Desirable Skills
  • Tail lift and fridge maintenance experience.
  • Strong negotiation and challenging skills.
  • Previous experience with Daf, Scania, or Volvo vehicles.
  • Financially conscious.
