Our mission is to facilitate the analysis of any biological entity, accessible to anyone, anywhere.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated RNA Sample Preparation Manager to become a vital part of our RNA/cDNA Sample Technologies team. This full-time, laboratory-based role focuses on the research and development of our sequencing kits, aimed at improving the efficacy of RNA/cDNA sequencing processes, platforms, and comprehensive workflows for biopharmaceutical applications utilizing our innovative technologies.

The successful candidate will report to the Director of the RNA/cDNA Sample Technologies division and will be responsible for:

  • Designing experiments and conducting offline assays, library preparation, and RNA/cDNA sequencing to create and refine sample preparation kits and protocols.
  • Providing data and insights to bioinformatics teams to enhance the design of end-to-end workflows.
  • Communicating findings effectively to relevant stakeholders and maintaining oversight of key research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The role encompasses a variety of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Conducting experimental design and implementing enhancements for RNA/cDNA sequencing protocols and kits, including methodologies for direct RNA and cDNA sequencing.
  • Extracting and preparing nucleic acids for RNA and/or DNA sequencing.
  • Developing and maintaining specific assays and protocols, such as RNA/cDNA sequencing sample preparation, transcriptome sequencing, barcoding, and sequence capture/enrichment.
  • Generating sequencing data for subsequent bioinformatic analysis.
  • Collaborating with bioinformatics and software development teams to ensure the provision of necessary sequencing data aligned with experimental designs.
  • Documenting experimental findings and writing protocols for publication.
  • Generating and curating quality control data and sequencing data to support the development of sample preparation methodologies.
  • Ensuring methodologies comply with quality standards and regulatory practices.
  • Assisting new team members with laboratory work and basic bioinformatics tasks.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate Ph.D. degree and postdoctoral experience in a molecular biology or biotechnology-related field, along with several years of relevant industry experience, preferably in RNA-related disciplines. A successful track record in laboratory-based academic research or pertinent lab experience, coupled with an understanding of next-generation sequencing, is essential.

We expect candidates to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

  • Fundamental understanding of nucleic acid structure and function, with hands-on experience working with RNA.
  • Basic data analysis and statistical skills.
  • Familiarity with standard molecular biology laboratory techniques such as gel electrophoresis and PCR/qPCR.
  • Ability to perform essential laboratory calculations.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Previous managerial experience is highly desirable.

This position is ideal for an enthusiastic individual with robust problem-solving and communication skills, capable of thriving in multidisciplinary teams while also working independently.

Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including an attractive bonus structure, generous pension contributions, private healthcare, and a competitive starting salary. Our work environment is enhanced by beautiful, landscaped surroundings, providing a pleasant atmosphere for our team.
