About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist to lead various projects in epigenetics, epitranscriptomics, and RNA biology. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology, and experience in adapting and developing new scientific techniques and experimental protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adapt and develop new scientific techniques and experimental protocols
  • Test hypotheses and analyze scientific data from various sources
  • Develop ideas for generating research income and present detailed research proposals to senior researchers
  • Collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles
  • Present papers and posters
  • Manage own academic research and administrative activities, including small-scale project management
Requirements
  • Hold or be close to completion of a relevant PhD/DPhil in Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Cell Biology/Chemistry
  • Relevant experience in epigenetics, epitranscriptomics, or RNA biology
  • Strong skill set in standard molecular biology/biochemistry/cell biology techniques
  • Experience in communicating results clearly and logically as part of a diverse research team
About the Team

The Song research group at the University of Oxford aims to decode the chemical modifications of our genome, transcriptome, and proteome in human health and disease – cancer in particular – and translate this information into diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities that ultimately benefit patients.
