About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist Specialist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality laboratory services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the quality management system and UKAS accreditation
  • Train and supervise less experienced members of staff
  • Validate and authorize results
  • Provide a safe and quality service for our patients
  • Resolve complex equipment or process problems
  • Perform manual, semi-automated, and fully automated laboratory investigations
  • Participate in the day-to-day management of stock control and usage

Requirements
  • HCPC registered
  • Biomedical Science Degree or equivalent
  • Specialist portfolio in Haematology and Blood Transfusion or CPSM logbook
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Theoretical knowledge and practical experience of specialist biomedical procedures relevant to post
  • Substantial practical experience of working in a Biomedical Science laboratory
  • Experience of Quality Management Systems
  • Experience of performing Risk Assessments
  • Experience of Pathology IT systems
