About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Biomedical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by conducting laboratory tests and analyzing results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results to diagnose and treat patients
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including extended working hours and participation in a 24/7 service
  • Supervise and train less experienced staff in your area of work and competency
  • Maintain and promote a professional image of the Pathology Department

Our pathology department is part of the East Coast Pathology Network and provides a range of laboratory services to patients across east Suffolk and north Essex.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist with the following qualifications and experience:

  • HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
  • Biomedical Science degree or equivalent
  • Evidence of continual professional development
  • Additional specialist qualifications as required

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Practical experience of working in a Biomedical Science laboratory
  • Knowledge of Pathology IT systems
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
  • Knowledge/performance of Risk Assessments
  • Previous relevant experience of working in the NHS
