About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and career-driven Optometrist to join our team at Compass Associates. As a Specialist Optometrist, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our Specialist Eye Clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough examinations associated with cataract surgery, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Run acute and follow-up clinics post-surgery, documenting findings in electronic medical records and providing health advice and support to patients.
  • Provide first-line clinical advice to patients, referring them to medical practitioners as necessary, and ensuring awareness of CQC policies and updates.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to hospital policies on uniform, decontamination, and sterilization procedures.
  • Proactively identify process improvements to ensure a streamlined, efficient, and high-quality service for patients.
  • Build strong relationships with patients, understanding their individual needs and providing tailored treatment solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with pre-authorisation processes and collection of surgery deposits.
Requirements
  • GOC registration.
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in the UK.
  • Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Experience in refraction.
  • Experience with patient administration systems and electronic medical records.
  • Cataract experience (desirable); training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • IP qualification (desirable); training can be provided for the right candidate.
