Optometrist Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and career-driven Optometrist to join our team at Compass Associates. As a Specialist Optometrist, you will be working in a hospital environment with a focus on Cataract surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out examinations associated with cataract surgery
- Run acute and follow-up clinics post-surgery, documenting findings in electronic medical records
- Provide health advice and support to patients
- Provide first-line clinical advice and refer patients to medical practitioners as necessary
- Ensure awareness of equipment usage, safety precautions, and handling within the clinical competency framework
- Stay up-to-date with CQC policies and updates, attending mandatory courses
- Contribute to maintaining a clean working environment and adhering to cross-infection control policies
- Document and report any accidents or incidents
- Identify process improvements to ensure a streamlined, efficient, and high-quality service
- Build relationships with patients to understand their needs and provide suitable treatment solutions
- Explain treatment options and answer patient questions
- Achieve set conversion rates from consultation to treatment booking
- Ensure compliance with pre-authorisation processes and collect surgery deposits
Requirements:
- GOC Registered
- Minimum 2 years post-registration experience in the UK
- Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting
- Experience in refraction
- Experience with patient administration systems and electronic medical records
- Cataract experience (desirable), with training available
- IP qualification (desirable), with training available
