Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive Assessments: Perform thorough evaluations of speech, language, and communication abilities in children aged 0-5 to identify the nature and severity of any difficulties.
  • Individualized Treatment Planning: Create, implement, and assess tailored intervention strategies based on the unique needs of each child, utilizing evidence-based methodologies.
  • Family Engagement: Collaborate closely with families and caregivers, providing education, resources, and strategies to enhance the child's communication skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, health visitors, occupational therapists, and early childhood educators, to ensure cohesive care delivery.
  • Support for Early Years Settings: Offer guidance and resources to early years environments, such as nurseries and preschools, to foster speech and language development.
  • Community Involvement: Connect with local services and support networks to provide comprehensive care and assistance for children and their families.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a related discipline.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
  • Extensive experience working with children aged 0-5 who have speech, language, and communication challenges.
  • Proficient in the assessment and management of communication disorders in early childhood.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Additional certifications or advanced training in early childhood development or specific speech and language therapy techniques.
  • Experience in early years settings and collaboration with early childhood educators.
  • Leadership capabilities to mentor junior staff and contribute to the development of the therapy team.
