Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Sous Chef and Senior Sous Chef in developing and delivering high-quality meals, ensuring exceptional food presentation, portioning, and taste. You will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching junior chefs, as well as participating in menu development and planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Sous Chef and Senior Sous Chef in developing and delivering high-quality meals
  • Ensure exceptional food presentation, portioning, and taste
  • Mentor and coach junior chefs
  • Participate in menu development and planning
  • Estimate food consumption and assist with ordering and maintaining stock inventory
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure seamless food production and delivery

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of working experience as a chef
  • Minimum 1 year as a Junior Sous Chef in a 5-star hotel or fine dining restaurant with a high volume
  • Fluent English is spoken and written
  • Ability to direct and plan food preparation
  • Ability to provide consistent food quality
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and carry crates supporting the kitchen staff with the setup of the kitchen and deliveries
  • Ability to stand for several hours
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
